General Information to the delegates of PORSEC-2012
Reaching Hotels from Kochi International Airport
Delegates arriving at Kochi International Airport are advised to avail the services of Prepaid Taxi or Public Bus Service operated by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) from/to Airport/City. The Prepaid Taxi Counters are located in the arrival halls. The bus stop of Public Bus Service is near to the Arrival Gate.

Foreign participants are advised to exchange sufficient currency at the airport to meet the Taxi expenses. Foreign exchange counters are located in the arrival hall of the Kochi International Airport.
Delegates travelling by Airport Bus to the city are advised to alight at the following points and take auto rickshaw (a three wheeler) to reach respective Hotels.

Reaching Hotels from the Railway Station
Kochi has two railway stations Ernakulam Town (North) and Ernakulam Junction (South). Delegates arriving by train at these railway stations are advised to take Pre-paid Auto rickshaw to the respective Hotels and Ashir Bhavan. The hotels Gokulam Park, Avenue Regent are located within 5 km from these railway stations and tariff may vary between Rs. 50-100 by Auto Rickshaw.
In case of any difficulty, please look for the volunteer carrying a placard with "PORSEC-2012" at the arrival gate of the Railway Station. The volunteer will guide you to reach the Pre-paid Taxi / Auto rickshaw Stand.
Conference Venue and Halls
PORSEC-2012 conference will be organized at IMA House, Behind Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Palarivattom PO, Cochin 682025 which is right in the centre of the Kochi city. The IMA House is located behind the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Palarivattom, Kochi and is about 35 km drive from the Kochi Airport.
The IMA House has 4 halls located on 4 floors. The details of the Halls and locations are given below:

Transport from Hotels to Conference Venue
The hotels (Gokulam Park, Avenue Regent, Holiday Inn) are located within 5 km distance from the conference venue i.e., IMA House.
Transport is arranged for the participants staying in the above hotels to the Conference venue during November 05-09, 2012. Vehicles will start from hotels every day at 08:00 hrs. All participants are requested to finish their breakfast before 08:00 hrs and assemble in the reception area.
Transportation will not be provided by the LOC for the delegates staying in other hotels. The delegates staying in other hotels are requested to make their own arrangements for transport from the hotel to venue and back.
Student Accommodation and Transport
Hostel accommodation on twin sharing basis is arranged for the student participants at the Ashir Bhavan, Kacheripady, (Near St. Anthonys LP School), Ernakulam North, Kochi, Kerala - 682018.
Transport is arranged for the student participants from respective hotels to the Conference venue during November 05-09, 2012. Vehicles will start from Ashir Bhavan every day at 08:00 hrs. Participants are requested to finish with their breakfast before 08:00 hrs and assemble in the reception area.
Transport for the students and tutors of the Pre-Conference Tutorial is also arranged from their respective hotels and Guest Houses.
Transport from the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor to IMA House
Transport will be arranged for the participants reaching the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kalooor( by City Bus or by other means) between 0830 - 0900 Hrs during Nov 05-09, 2012 to reach the Conference Venue. Please look for the Bus with PORSEC-2012 logo at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.
Registration and Help Desk
The registration desk will be arranged at the entrance of the Conference Venue i.e., IMA House. The delegates registered through on-line/DD/Wire Transfer are requested to submit the Registration Id to receive the registration kit. The registration desk will open at Conference Venue from 0830 hrs during November 5-9, 2012. The registration desk will remain closed during the inaugural session 0930-1130 hrs on November 5, 2012.
However, to avoid rush at the Registration Desk on November 5, 2012, the Reception and Registration Committee is making necessary arrangements to provide registration kits to the pre-registered delegates at their respective Hotels on November 04, 2012. The delegates are requested to receive the registration kit and sign in the form.
On-site registration
The delegates wish to register on-site have to pay the registration fee in cash either in USD or in equivalent Indian Rupees (at the equivalent conversion rate on the day) at the registration desk and receive the registration kit. The on-site registration fee details are available at http://www.porsec2012.incois.gov.in/RegistrationFees.html Foreign Exchange Counter will be available at the registration desk to exchange USD for INR.
Food
Working lunch, Tea/Coffee are arranged at the conference venue for the delegates during Nov 5-9, 2012. Lunch will be served in the exhibition area (adjacent to the Main Auditorium) i.e., on roof top of the IMA House on submission of lunch coupon available in the Registration Kit.
The Conference Dinner along with the Cultural Programme will be organized at the Venue on Nov 5, 2012. The delegates are requested to make their own arrangements for the dinner during the remaining days. Several restaurants are available in the vicinity of your hotel. Taste the typical Kerala Cuisine.
Wi-Fi Facility
Wi-fi facility will be available for the conference participants at the Conference Venue. Delegates may contact the registration desk for the Password.
Local Tours and Tourist Information
LOC is planning to arrange a half-day local tour for the delegates after the valedictory session on Nov 9, 2012. No fee will be charged for this tour; but delegates are required to sign-up for this tour at the registration desk before 1400 hrs on 8 November.
A travel desk (managed by a travel company) will be available at the conference venue to help the delegates in planning and booking tours. Delegates may directly deal with the travel company to book the tours.
